This BookNTrek backpacking trip combines Gokarna with the majestic Murudeshwar Shiva statue, the mysterious Yana Caves, and the serene Honnavar backwaters — a mix of spirituality, adventure and beach vibes over 4 days and 3 nights, including overnight travel. The trip covers beaches, temples, caves, cafés, backwaters and sunsets across coastal Karnataka. Along the way you'll visit the Murudeshwar Temple's towering Shiva statue by the Arabian Sea, relax at Kudle Beach, trek to the mysterious Yana Caves (the route shifts to Mirjan Fort if heavy rain causes landslides), go backwater boating at Honnavar, walk the Mangrove Forest boardwalk, watch the sunset at Jatayu Teerth, and spend time café-hopping around Gokarna. During the rainy season, the trip also takes in Jog Falls. Accommodation is on a hotel (3/4 sharing) basis, and this is a backpacking trip rather than a luxury tour — seats are allotted on a first-come-first-served basis, with a minimum of 12 participants required for the trip to run.

Safety Guidelines

Minimum 12 participants required — the trip may be cancelled if this isn't met.
Accommodation is on a sharing basis (3/4/5 sharing); rooms are allotted by gender ratio, with an extra mattress provided for extra members.
Timings may change depending on weather, traffic and road conditions.
Water activities (boating) depend on weather and are subject to availability.
This is a backpacking trip, not a luxury tour — seats are allotted on a first-come-first-served basis.
Only basic first aid is provided by the trip captain; carry your own regular medicines if required.
Smoking, alcohol and any addiction/intoxicant are strictly prohibited throughout the trip, including in the vehicle.
Full payment must be completed before departure.
BookNTrek arranges bus, hotel, food and other facilities through third-party vendors; if any vendor service doesn't meet expectations, no refund or on-trip complaint process applies for that.
In case of a bus breakdown or vehicle fault, alternate travel will be arranged; please be prepared to wait a minimum of 4-5 hours in such situations.
Do not carry jewellery or valuables — BookNTrek is not responsible for loss of personal items.
Dress appropriately for temple visits (see Things to Carry for the dress code) and wear comfortable footwear.
Inform a family member or close friend about this trip before departure.
The trip captain's decision is final; maintain respectful behaviour with the trip leader and fellow participants throughout.
Any misbehaviour with the driver, trip leader or fellow participants results in immediate removal from the trip, without refund.
Reach the pickup point on time to avoid delays.

Cancellation Policy

Booking amount (Rs. 2,000) is non-refundable under any condition. The remaining balance must be paid 2 days before departure. Registration is confirmed only after full trip fee payment. If the balance is not paid, the booking amount is non-refundable. If BookNTrek cancels the trip, a 100% refund will be issued.
